Mission Statement

The Oklahoma Prevention Leadership Committee assists Oklahoma prevention programs to identify, implement, and evaluate evidence based strategies to increase knowledge and end violence.

Overview:

The Oklahoma Prevention Leadership Committee (OPLC) was formed in order to develop and implement a statewide plan for the purpose of preventing sexual violence. Focusing on primary prevention using the Socio-Ecological Model, the OPLC identifies best practices to reduce sexual violence while evaluating the outcomes of prevention methods. The OPLC is a part of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's Rape Prevention and Education program (RPE), which provides states with grants to begin or continue primary prevention of sexual violence.
